Writing A Description Title For Your eBay Listing

Be descriptive in your listing title to be more easily found on eBay searches.  When writing your title, make sure you cover the basics.

For example:  When listing a book title make sure to write the word "book" in your title.  When listing a movie for sale, make sure your write "DVD" and/or movie in the title.  In the eBay listing title for electronics make sure you say what it actually is like "headphones", "car stereo" or "ipod".

Be sure to check out our eBook on Amazon.com.  The title is:

Why Did eBay Remove My Listing?

You may see items on eBay that are similar to your listing but haven't been removed. There are a few reasons why this could happen:
  • There might be a difference between your listing or item and the other that isn't obvious. The email we sent will tell you more. If you still have questions contact eBay.
  • The other seller might be a rights owner who is allowed to sell an item (for example an authorized retailer).
  • A participant in the VeRO Program might have requested that your listing be removed, but didn't request that others be removed. These decisions are made by VeRO participants and not by eBay. For more information about why a VeRO participant asked to have your listing removed, contact the VeRO participant using the email address that was included in the email we sent you.
  • Your listing was reported to eBay, but another was not.
Some of the Policies by eBay may not seem fare to you.  They apparently try to do their best and usually once they make a decision it is final.

Save Money on Shipping Cost

It is less expensive to print postage online instead of going to the post office.  You can do it right from eBay and then the tracking number is automatically places on the listing.  eBay also emails this information to the customer telling them that their purchase has been shipped.  It is so much easier to keep records of your shipping this way.  Why not take care of saving money, time and improving customer service all at the same time.

Purchase Insurance for Your Packages at The Post Office

Insurance on your package is a big benefit to you and your customers.  A minimum amount of insurance is included in the price of Priority Mail.  You can purchase additional insurance up to the full value of the item.  The cost is usually no more than $10.00 for a $1,000.00 value and costing you not much more than $1.00 for a $100.00 value.  If a package is lost the Post Office will reimburse the full value.  This process can take 2 months or longer and several pages of paperwork.  The good news is when the Post Office has money on the line, the package is usually found.
